James Quinn lives and works on the outskirts of London in South Essex.
Specialising in portraiture and figurative painting, James works primarily in oils and uses expressive marks to focus purely on the observations of character emerging from his subjects.
James studied fine art at Thurrock College but fell back in love with painting in 2013. He is still honing his style and building a body of work but has already exhibited in the Essex based Creative Tomorrows show. He comes from a family of noted artists including Dordogne based Tom Quinn whose work was celebrated at the prestigious Petley’s gallery of Mayfair in 2011.
